to be open

The day I got my van and began this road-trip
a rainbow appeared.

Rainbows (according to my Steven Farmer oracle deck)
signify
BLESSINGS

Although I didn’t need an oracle deck to tell me that.

It is why I gasp every time I see a rainbow,
which meant while I was in Maui most of 2021
I gasped quite often.


I think of :
“rainbow people”
the ultimate BRIDGE
and even Chiron, the wounded healer
when I see a rainbow


I think of:
my own alignment
my personal energy, the colors I radiate
and perhaps
mostly my ability to receive and be open to the blessings in front of me

For maybe at this time
it is not about the acting and doing
But the crack in the door getting ever-so-larger
and seeing what’s on the other side
without fear
and with courage


For openness indeed
takes a kind of courage that has to be cultivated
encouraged
loved - up - on.

Not the “GO HARDER” “PUSH FASTER” “BE BETTER”
kind of courage.
But the
soft whispers of
”…. you got this”
and
”… thank you for who you are”
kind of courage.

I see rainbows when the boat goes fast on the water
as my head bounces up and down
and my heart laughs and explodes
here in Squamish, Canada.
My kite surfing lessons
a mix of adrenaline, peace, adventure, and love.

BLESSINGS.

I see rainbows at the gym,
when the sun starts to tuck in West
and it hits the window just right
on the squat rack section
Creeping up on various culprits legs
during some heavy lifts
(and of course you know I pointed it out to all…)

”HEY. You have a rainbow on your leg.”

BLESSINGS.

And I see a rainbow today,
maybe not quite yet in my physical sky
even though the rain is in the forecast
My sun is still in the shadow of myself

But in this writing, in this photo, and in my life.

Words spilling out of my heart and head and hand
Like gemini season knows how to give


It is simply my role
job
task?
